Copy right is when you take someone else's work and claiming it as you own without citing. We have copy right to protect peoples original work that may easily be taken. Thus, the people that take the work could make profit that the original person should've made.  Some common copy right violations are posting an image, photo, or video without permission. Also using a large portion of a text without permission. Out of all that the worst that would happen could be getting sued.
